Who’s excited to welcome BTS V and his upcoming single release, “Winter Ahead”? We are, too! And yet, despite all the buildup of excitement, new debates have been circulating about all the alleged mistreatment against BTS V from the very label that he’s participated in building, HYBE. So, should BTS V really end his contract and leave HYBE after all the alleged mistreatment? Join our discussion and let us know what you think.
BTS V Alleged Mistreatment on “Winter Ahead” Release – What Happened?
BTS radiant visual and vocalist member Kim Taehyung—stage name V—will be soon gracing fans with his upcoming “Winter Ahead” release. Yet, this highly anticipated single has only triggered more debate from fans and the public, and everything is due to the alleged mistreatment from his own label, HYBE.
On November 26, multiple posts on Korean online communities revealed that despite all the massive anticipation for the release of BTS V “Winter Ahead,” very few efforts have been made by BTS label BIGHIT and HYBE to enthusiastically promote his single.
In fact, a post on Instiz and Nate Pann mentioned that aside from the teasers, HYBE had done nothing special to promote BTS V “Winter Ahead.” While some argued that it was V who actually demanded lesser promotion, it was proven wrong when the BTS idol personally thanked various posts and media outlets who promoted the single.
Screenshots of comments criticizing the lack of promotion rapidly gained traction on Korean forums.
Fans also pointed out the stark contrast in the media coverage for V’s solo project compared to other topics, such as the articles involving former ADOR CEO Min Heejin, which only briefly mentioned V in the context of the alleged phone call. The focus was only on Min Heejin. V was just like a passerby.
This imbalance has intensified discussions about HYBE’s approach to supporting V’s highly-anticipated “Winter Ahead” release. It then caused fans questioning the company’s priorities.
Therefore, fans and the general public are now urging BTS V not to renew his contract and leave HYBE. That is especially crucial, knowing that HYBE has repeatedly mistreated BTS V when it comes to his solo activity.
Should He Really End His Contract and Leave HYBE?
Still, we cannot argue that BTS V has been playing a massive role for the rapidly growing company BIGHIT, and it has now become the giant Kpop company HYBE. While HYBE may have allegedly mistreated the brilliant idol, there’s a possible connection—or demands—that make it hard for BTS V to just end the contract and leave HYBE.
But what do you think? Should BTS V just focus on his own future and find a company that can treat him better? Please share your thoughts in the comments.
In the meantime, let’s just cheer together for BTS V and his upcoming release of “Winter Ahead” single feat Park Hyo Shin.
