Jung Kyung Ho to Star in New Legal K-Drama “Pro Bono”
According to an exclusive report by JTBC on February 19, actor Jung Kyung Ho is taking on the leading role in the new legal drama “Pro Bono” for tvN. This upcoming drama will be a collaboration project between top creators: director Kim Sung Yoon and writer Moon Yoo Seok.
Director Kim Sung Yon is a renowned director with numerous global hits. One of his best works is a webtoon-based Korean drama, “Itaewon Class,” which inspired a Japanese series and a musical adaptation. Other popular K-dramas from this talented director include “Dream High,” “Love in the Moonlight,” and “The Sound of Magic.”
Furthermore, writer Moon Yoo Seok is well-known for his previous legal dramas, “Miss Hammurabi” and “The Devil Judge.”
In addition, the upcoming series will premiere in the second half of this year.
About “Pro Bono”
The upcoming legal drama “Pro Bono” title comes from the Latin phrase that means “for the public good.” It is a comedic legal drama that depicts pro bono lawyers who tackle legal cases without charging fees and with no financial gain.
According to the report, actor Jung Kyung Ho will portray Kang David, a successful judge with swift analytical skills and outstanding problem-solving abilities. However, after a sudden crisis, he becomes a pro bono lawyer. The show will depict how he grows and transforms as he deals with real-life challenges.
Jung Kyung Ho’s Next Projects
If the “Crash Course in Romance” actor accepts confirms, this will mark his second time playing the role of a lawyer, following his upcoming drama “Oh My Ghost Clients,” which is also known as “Labor Attorney Noh Moo Jin,” set to premiere in May 2025.
Additionally, he will make a special cameo in the upcoming K-drama “Resident Playbook,” set to premiere in April 2025. In the upcoming medical series spinoff, he will be Doctor Kim Jun Wan from “Hospital Playlist.”
