YG Entertainment and Netflix Response to this Rumor
If the rumors are true, BLINKs hope the documentary will show the hardships Blackpink members have gone through from before their debut and during training, including their audition videos. In short, BLINKs want to see how these four members of Blackpink rise to fame and get where they are now.
However, YG Entertainment remained tight-lipped about this. “It is difficult to confirm at this point,” said YG Entertainment in response to the rumors. They added, “Blackpink will repay with good music, and positive news as fans have waited for a long time. We would be thankful if fans wait for official announcements made in the future. We ask for your understanding.”
Contrary to that, Netflix indirectly confirmed that the rumors spread online can be real. One BLINK mentioned Netflix on her tweet, and asked about when Blackpink documentary will be released? And surprisingly, Netflix responded that question.
Hey, thanks for reaching out! We currently don’t have any info on when that’ll be released. Make sure to follow our social handle for updates though! *HL

First Female K-pop on Netflix
If Blackpink documentary is really made on Netflix, Blackpink would be the first female K-Pop superstars having internationally documentary on a major streaming platform. This is following the success of BTS documentaries, which were released in cinemas.
Previously, the record company YG Entertainment produced a reality show called “Blackpink House.” This reality show focused on Lisa, Jisoo, Rosé, and Jennie’s everyday life at their shared home.
It is not surprising that people are waiting for another breakthrough since Blackpink is one of the most successful K-pop superstars. Their 2019 hit single Kill This Love has reached more than 737million YouTube views (and still counting), while their 2018 single Ddu-Du Ddu-Du has reached over one billion views.
Perhaps, this Blackpink feature documentary on Netflix is a part of their comeback. It must be worth to wait. Who is excited about Blackpink documentary?
